Guest Bob I Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Re: power managements clashing Do you have administrative rights to do this? Power settings are per user. So if you don't have admin rights to do this you will need to raise the account level to change them, and then lower it again. peter wrote: > If I dont use my toshiba laptop for 15 mins I get locked up on a blue screen > because the toshiba power management sais dont standby or hibernate but the > microsoft p.m. sais do.How do switch off microsoft p.m. when it wont let me > select microsoft p.m. to switch it off.

Guest Bob I Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Re: power managements clashing Then the answer is to Contact Toshiba, as it is their software installation which is having an issue. peter wrote: > I am the administrater as "user" "guest " is not activated .There are no > other users.Warning sais "Power options close microsoft power options and use > toshiba power management" When selecting power management ,toshiba comes up > but dulls (deactivates) before I can select microsoft to switch it off.
Guest peter Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Re: power managements clashing I,ll contact Toshiba . I only started having this problem after a shop did some work . I was hoping there was an easy solution as the shop is some distance and would proberly charge me again by now ! -- c.c. Guest Bob I Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Re: power managements clashing Yes, if the shop loaded software from a generic disk and broke the Toshiba software then you could see what you report. You may wish to ask the shop what they may have done. But you will likely need to use the Toshiba CD to fix it correctly. peter wrote: > I,ll contact Toshiba .
