Guest Trish Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Hi, For about a week now, I keep losing IE from my task bar. I then go to the start menu, press Ctrl and drag a copy of IE7 onto my task bar. It remains there until I log off, and is not there when I log on again. Since I use this numerous times daily, it is quite frustrating. The task bar is unlocked. Many thanks.

Guest Trish Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Re: Windows XP Professional - Task Bar Hi Kelly, thank you for that. I know IE should have been on the Quick Launch bar, and it was , but for some inexplicable reason it suddenly disappeared. I have used your tweak, thank you, and put IE on the QL bar, then logged off and restarted, and yes! it is still there. So thank you! Guest Trish Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Re: Windows XP Professional - Quick Launch Bar Re: Windows XP Professional - Quick Launch Bar Hi Gary Regrettably not! It was gone again this morning! It really is wierd. I have just turned the QL toolbar off and then on again, and it has not re-appeared, so I will have to put it there manually. I have never had this trouble before. Is there a particular way I should place IE there? I have been dragging a copy from my Start Menu. Looking forward to your response. Many thanks. Trish- Another way to do the same thing is to,after putting IE back on the QL bar,is to disable it from the start button or taskbar(properties)-uncheck "Show Quick Launch"/ Apply/OK, then go back & reverse the procedure. Like I said,it helps when the icons rearrange themselves, & hopefully using the "Apply" & "OK" will assure the save better than the disable/re-enable technique. I sure hope that this does the trick, this time . Keep us posted. ~Gary

May(or may not) be the key to the whole thing. I know that if it is locked & a program adds a QL Icon, then the width of the QL does not increase when locked & the width ,then ,becomes predetermined.[see edits in my response from earlier, above] Gosh ,I hope this works(fingers crossed) ~Gary
