maynardvdm Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Did you use the Norton Removal Tool or Add/Remove Programs to uninstall it? Download and run the Norton Removal Tool I see in some cases it was Norton related and other cases it is to do with the User Account Control(UAC) in Vista but all of them are different. Tony D Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to con tact your DHCP server. Request has timed out. There's the problem. If you tried this using the wireless connection, try it with a know good Ethernet cable connected to the router. by the way - did you power down the router for 15 seconds or so? Might be worth a try. Tony D Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 You're doing the right things, but for some reason your Vista machine and router are no longer communicating. Did you restart the computer? Long shot - Try right clicking on My Computer, go to Properties, Device Manager - make sure there are no red or yellow error marks associated with any device. Also check to see that your wireless and wired network connections are listed in there. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help.
