Tony D Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I put a new 320 GB drive in an HP a510n. I'm installing XP from the CD. When I format it using the XP install disk, it shows only 131 GB. Try to install any way thinking I can resize it later, but the installation doesn't work, it brings me back to the Setup screen after several minutes. The Phoenix v 3.03 (Dated 2004) sees the drive as 320 GB. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Tony D Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 This to add, when I delete the partition, it shows the 131 GB as unallocated space. There is no other unallocated space listed. Tony D Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 Yes - you called it. It's SP-1. However, please explain why after reformatting the disk space that it did see, the installation didn't finish. I didn't keep track of where the loop started and finished, but I pressed F8 more than once to do the installation and it never did install Windows. Quote Need help with your computer problems?
