Guest tay Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 windows installer keep popping up and when i checked under msconfig under the servies tap the status says stopped how to make it start back running so windows installer can stop popping up every time i click on anything.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > "Administrative Tools" icon > "Services" icon. Scroll down the list to "Windows Installer" and double-click it. The path to the program should be: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe /V". The "startup type" should be "manual", and the service should normally be stopped because it runs when needed to install an .msi packages. Click "Apply" and close the property dialog. Restart the computer. Mark
