DSTM Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 (edited) Hi Guys,Went to download Smilies from one of your Advertizments and got this from Site Advisor.Should I disregard and download?Just being cautious. Thanks. http://i30.tinypic.com/ma89au.jpg Edited June 7, 2008 by DSTM Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
Goku Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I wouldn't trust this site either Doug. From the user reviews I have read on various sites, this appears to be a moderate piece of Spyware. Even the description on c|net states that it is a spyware. Better ignore it and move on. :) Lets see what the malware experts have to say on this. :) -- Goku Quote

DSTM Posted June 7, 2008 Author Posted June 7, 2008 Just had a look at this Link. What do you make of it?Guys. SWEETIM.EXE, Spyware Remove Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
Seth Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 (edited) I have no idea what Prevx is talking about, because SweetIM isn't malware. Sweet makes their money by installing a toolbar search that shows a few sponsored results. This is an interesting tidbit from the link: First seen: Oct 11 2006 (GMT) Last seen: Oct 11 2006 (GMT) Edited June 7, 2008 by Seth Quote Need help with your computer problems? Seth Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Just to further ease your mind Doug, I installed Sweet. As suspected, neither SAS or MB flags it as malware. Quote Need help with your computer problems? DSTM Posted June 7, 2008 Author Posted June 7, 2008 Thats good,Seth, and thanks for staying with my concern. If SAS and MB,which I have, flag it as safe, then I have no further concerns. Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
