Print Spooler hangs the system

I was trying to upgrade Internet Explorer when the system froze.

Since then, every time I started the computer, it would hang. I found the

guilty process to be the spool server using 99% of the CPU. If I stop the

print spooler the problem goes away. I looked at spoolsv.exe and it has not

been modified since Friday, June 10, 2005.

Any suggestions?

THANKS

RE: Print Spooler hangs the system

Do you have any print jobs waiting to print?? Delete the jobs and check the

following location - C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS delete whats in it.

Check for viruses also.
