Guest Swapan Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Recently I had to reinstall Win XP after a hard disk crush. Every thing went well nut I am not able to upgrade to Service Pack 2. I am trying both from Microsoft original CD and fresh downloaded pack. In both the cases after unpacking and checking disk space it starts some driver loading, but then suddenly the system reboots. After restarting in the right hand botton corner it shows upgrades are ready to install. When I starts that it reached the previous state of checking disk space and install driver and then restart again. I have tried 20 times but with same result. Can any one please help me ? Thanks a lot. -- A printer professional from India

Since the system is restarting when a driver is installed, did you install any updated drivers when SP2 was previously installed ? Guest Swapan Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Re: SP2 UPGRADATION - SYSTEM RESTART Thanks a lot Mr. Green. The problem was caused by installing few upgrades earlier than reuired. Actualy they are suppose to be installed after SP2. However it was very dificult to idenfy them also also would be more time taking. I had to take the easier path. Reinstalled XP and then loaded SP2. THanks for your time.
