Guest jchchye Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Hi people, I need help in setting up a password during login (not Windows' login). Booting up happens so fast and I don't know which button to press. I'm running Win XP on my Toshiba laptop. Thanks all.

If so then your best options are: - Read the manual that came with our laptop, or - Check the Toshiba FAQs

The button (or buttons) to press should be displayed very early in the bootup process. You can stop things momentarily by pushing the "Pause" key, probably in the upper right area of your keyboard. Then press any key to let bootup continue. If you can't find the sequence this way, you'll have to look in the system or motherboard docs that came with your machine, or check the manufacturer's website. -- Tim Slattery MS MVP(DTS) Slattery_T@bls.gov http://members.cox.net/slatteryt

Turn on computer by Holding down power button while pressing the ESC key. The machine will beep, then display: Check System, then press [F1] key. 2. Release ESC key 3. Press F1 key -- Harry Ohrn MS MVP [shell\User] http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp "jchchye" <jchchye@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1185882342.800939.235690@z24g2000prh.googlegroups.com... > Hi people, I need help in setting up a password during login (not > Windows' login).
