Guest Jon Scott Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Re: ctl-alt-delete in remote desktop Of course, that applies to machines you're connecting to is Windows XP and possibly Vista or 2003. Jon. Guest rodchar Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 RE: ctl-alt-delete in remote desktop hey all, thanks for all the tips, they helped. By the way, i thought you could lock the windows 2003 server on one client pc and open the same session on another client pc? Guest Pegasus \(MVP\) Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Re: ctl-alt-delete in remote desktop AFAIR, you can take over a dormant session via the Terminal Services Manager. Or, (if you are using the classic view) on the remote machine under Start Menu/Settings, there should be an item named "Windows Security" that gives you the same thing as ctrl-alt-del (if not using fast user switching). Note that the remote machine should already be displaying the locked computer screen while you are using RD. Unless it is Windows Server, which can have multiple RD sessions - unless you purposely connect to the console session, these display nothing on the remote computer's screen. You can just disconnect without logging out from the remote session, which will leave the remote machine in the locked state. On the start menu, "Shut Down" should be replaced by "Disconnect".
