Hello gang!

I'm now using Firefox and like it a lot, of course I am probably not using it to its full capabilities and learning about it all the time. - I added the spell check thing and am sure I will find more ways of customising.

What I'd like to know is can I access email from here? - on IE6 I just clicked the mail icon and IE7 added mail via the tools option - I use Outlook Express and while I can run with it open, I just like the facility to click on the toolbar to check for mail.

If you want easy access to OE without opening IE one possibility is to create a shortcut on the desktop or the quick launch area.

There is no way that I know of Steve.

It would kind of be like Ford advertising for GM.

Well said Seth. I know I am pushing it too far Steve but would you like to try Thunderbird. Its in the same class as Firefox.

Internet Explorer : Firefox :: Outlook Express : Thunderbird

If you do not like it, then you might want to put the Outlook Express icon in the Taskbar or in the system tray as there is no way of integrating the icon within Firefox itself. :)

That's fine - I was just making sure I wasn't missing anything - I'm still beaming from the youtube saga lol - I trust it shows between the lines. Trying to make it all as simple as possible for my dad.

So have you decided to put the icon in the Taskbar or are you going to check it manually? Actually, there is a Firefox extension that acts similar to the Outlook Express button in Internet Explorer 6. Its called Get Mail.

Get Mail

However, it is unsupported by Firefox and therefore unofficial too. The previous 1.xx series supported it but the developers removed it for some reason from the 2.xx series. However, according to user reviews, it works on Firefox 2 as well. You might want to try it. If you do, let us know if it works fine or not. :)

Think I'll just leave it Goku - If i can find the IE skin you mentioned on another thread I might try that, or just go through the help/tutorials stuff - I should really.
