Guest Frank Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Our timecard system uses a serial port to access the time clocks. When the screen saver comes on the serial port no longer opperates and time information is no longer gathered. Is there a setting that I can change to allow serial port access when the screen saver is on? Thank you, Frank

Guest Frank Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Re: serial port disabled when screen saver comes on I do not have any power management tabs for my serial device in device manager. Is there a spot in the registry where I can set the power state settings for the device. Guest Bob I Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Re: serial port disabled when screen saver comes on Is the PC going to low power or just the SS coming on? Does communication with time clock restore with the PC waking up? Do you have the latest motherboard drivers installed?
