How do I change my brower back to Internet Exploxer? Where do I go to change

Firefox back to my default? Right now I'm getting error messages on my Dell

Inspiron 9400 with Firefox. I want to change it back to the default.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, attilathehun1

Start IE, go to "Tools", select the "Programs" tab tick the box that says

"Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" ,

close IE . When you retart it you will be given the choice to make it the

default..

Why did you want to go back to IE? Especially since Firefox is a more

secure browser.

I haven't used IE7 yet. Is Firefox really more secure? How does ActiveX

enter the equation?

Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Set Programs Access and Defaults (left side)

Good Luck, Ayush.

Firefox doesn't run ActiveX, that's a big contributor to its security.

As to whether it's more secure then IE, you'll find lots of people to

argue both sides. Firefox bugs get fixed faster, and the update is

applied automatically.

How about making sure IE is configured to:

* not download unsigned ActiveX controls,

* not initialize/script unsafe ActiveX controls, and

* prompt you otherwise?

Isn't this secure?
