This may help if plug and play devices are not recognised

I had problems with this and this info may help as I finally worked out.

 

First go to -control panel and -folder options and -view.

Then click to show hidden files -ok

 

When the new hard ware wizard runs specify location.

main drive ©

windows

inf (which is a hidden file)

ok

 

It turns out that this is where the plug and play drivers are located.

Your wizard should then load the appropriate driver from this file and the

device will work. well it did for me anyway.
