Guest Lenny Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Hi, When I have nothing running on my computer (XP PRo) and I open the Windows Task Manager and look under Applications 'My Computer' is running. If I End task it comes back again in about 5 seconds. I have never seen this running on a computer under Applications before. Is it a virus or spyware causing this? Cheers Lenny

Go through these general malware removal steps systematically - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware Include scanning with David Lipman's Multi_AV and follow instructions to do all scans in Safe Mode. Guest Lenny Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Re: my computer in Task Manager thanks, I checked everything but after a restart the very top of the detached 'my computer' box appeared in the bottom of the screen so I dragged it up and closed it. Job done.
