WAIT Message on startup

I Have a gigabyte GA-7ZXE rev2 motherboard an AMD processor.

On startup it gets as far as

 

checking nv ram

x many bytes o/k

wait

 

thats as far as it gets. Is it or possibly the CPU or bios dead?

Is that all the error says?

If the cpu was dead nothing would be happening.

 

Have you made any hardware alterations lately?

I experienced the problem once too when it would verify the number of bytes in RAM and then freeze. In that case, it was caused by a loose Keyboard cable. Please check and see if the cable is tight or not. Also, if any cable is loose, please put it firmly and see if it helps the problem or not. Post back the results as soon as possible.
