Guest Jin Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Hi, I could not use my LPT port to print whenever I boot up my PC, and after I disable and enable it in the device manager, I could print. any help appreciated. OS : XP Pro Thanks
Guest Chuck Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Re: LPT port disable on boot up A few things come to mind-- 1. Bios settings may need to be changed . 2. The hardware port is not initializing on boot, but after delay will initialize. 3. Obviously, there may be something going on during the windows boot process that is causing the problem. I'd also look in device manager using safe mode, and see if there are undesired entries that might be related to your problem. Is the LPT port a local parallel port, usb port, or virtual on your P/C? Guest Jin Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Re: LPT port disable on boot up Hi Chuck 1. Bios setting is default. Same settings work for other PC. The LPT port is a physical port on the PC. This happens ironically after we did a system restore from the recovery CD. tks "Chuck" wrote: > A few things come to mind-- > 1. Bios settings may need to be changed . > 2.
