Guest mcpboy Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Existing Windows 2000 Terminal Server is also Domain Controller. Installed new Windows20003 Terminal Server as member server. Disabled old Terminal server RDP connector. Should I deactivate TS Licensing on the old DC and activate TSLicensing all over again with the new licenses purchased? or just add the new?
Guest Helge Klein Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Re: More Licensing- 2003TS in 2000 Domain A Windows Server 2003-based terminal server needs a TS licensing server on the same platform (W2k3). It cannot communicate with a W2k TS licensing server. See this document for more information: Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server licensing issues and requirements for deployment http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823313/EN-US That means you cannot use your old W2k TS licensensing server and must install it on some W2k3 machine. I hope this helps.
