Can't Restore with NT Backup - Drive in use?

Trying to restore with NT Backup and it keeps telling me the drive is in

use. Only thing the drive is doing is sitting there with the tape I need to

restore from in it.

What exactly are you trying to restore?

Re: Can't Restore with NT Backup - Drive in use?

I'm doing a test restore of a single file. I just started using NT Backup.

It backs up fine, but when trying to restore anything I get a message to

place the selected media in the drive, but it already is. I also have a

Mount Waiting window saying the library is unable to load the media because

the drive is in use.

It's a 2003 Server SP2 box.

I've tried to manually inventory with no effect.

I assume that you're using tapes to back up your files.

Here are a few strategies that often work when the removable

storage manager fails to recognise the medium:

- Remove, then re-insert the tape and wait two minutes, or

- Stop, then restart the RSM service, or

- Reboot the server.
