Guest Vernon D. Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Sorry for posting here, I didn't see an IE7 group, only IE6. Anyway my problem is recently my IE7 has not been launching when I double click on it, and I'm not sure what is causing the problem. This started a few days ago, and I think it may have started when I installed a game. When I tried to register to play this game, it tried to open IE7, at which point the browser would open, but it would not connect to anything, and the program would stop responding. Now this problem is only with IE, I also have Mozilla Firefox, and it is working just fine, so it's not a connection problem, I'm just not sure what it is, it's weird. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Ohhh the advantages of having Norton Ghost or Acronis true image, or .... and have a clean, up to date, everything working Backup to restore from, specially when an install goes wrong, you can test to your hearts content and totally mess things up, with confidence you can recover the lot in maybe 10 - 15 minutes.

Guest Vernon D. Guest Vernon D. Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Re: Internet Explorer 7 not launching 'Well, I disabled the Microsoft One Note add on, all the Yahoo toolbar add ons, and the Windows Live and Messenger add ons. So it's possible I simply had to many programs running with IE. I had recently installed Windows messenger and Yahoo messenger as well as an online game I downloaded. I disabled them all since I can access them another way, don't need them running in the toolbar. I did also delete that game, but I continured to have the problem, so I think it's Microsoft One Note which came either with the Office 07 trial I downloaded, or the Word '07 that I bought by itself, or one of the messenger programs. Guest PA Bear Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Re: Internet Explorer 7 not launching Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/07/25/678113.aspx If you reset IE settings (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737), you'll permanently disable all Add-ons. By opening IE7 in normal mode now and manually re-enabling each Add-on, one-by-one, you should be able to determine which of them is/was causing the problem, Vernon. It may be best to close all IE7 windows, uninstall all toolbars (e.g., Yahoo Companion; Windows Live Toolbar), then reboot. If the problems no longer persist, trying reinstalling Yahoo Companion (if you want) using a fresh download. (I'd steer clear of Windows Live Toolbar in IE7 if I were you.) -- ~PA Bear Vernon D. wrote: > 'Well, I disabled the Microsoft One Note add on, all the Yahoo toolbar add > ons, and the Windows Live and Messenger add ons.
