Jamey Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Try pressing Alt + Tab to see if there are any other active windows waiting in the background. Otherwise, try pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete and see if the Task Manager appears. Or, press that key combination twice and see if the "classic" logon screen appears. Quote

If you are able to go into Safe Mode, you should be able to do a system restore. If this doesnt work, use the Windows master disk Regards, merciarich Quote

Red Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 maybe time for a reinstall, after a power surge my hdd decided it wasn't worthy anymore Nothing good has happened with my pc since then, EVERYTHING is broken, and the only thing which seems to make it happy (at least for a ouple of months) is a whole reinstall of XP and everything else. Just make a backup, run the regular tests (fragmentation/registry/memory etc) and just start redoing everything. Quote
