Guest callie Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 ..okay i posted aquestion yesterday about my parents laptop..well i have it up and running now but when i went to go to delete a few programs they didnt need it say windows installer needs to be installed..i have already gone to microsoft and downloaded the only update they had for me is there something else i need to do. -- callie

Start|Run, type "%systemroot%\system32" without the quotation marks in the box. Find the file "msi.dll". Select on the File tab "Properties". Under "version" the number should be 3.1.4000.4039 . If that is the version number it shows you are up to date with Windows Installer. Otherwise, install KB927891.
