Guest peter Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 i installed xp pro over 2000 with a boot from the xp cdrom and formatting c,i did not delete the partition. can xp in this way get errors because of this way of formatting the 2000 install? or iow,can 2000 mesh up xp in this way of formatting? thanks,peter

This is fine for a WinXP installation - it does not require a previous Win2000 installation. Depending on the exact version of WinXP you purchased, you may be prompted for your Win2000 CD.
