Guest peter Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Re: Kill Switch for XP? Last nite I thought I would give the "dark side" a try and downloaded Ubuntu Linux iso.........burned it to a CD and ran off the CD for awhile..Needed to use Safe Video Mode inorder to see the screen clearly( 7800GT/ Digital LCD Monitor).I liked it. So I thought lets install it to that 3rd empty drive I have.........it seemed to install ok...took a long time but upon restart no GUI....just an error message. DOS type screen ask for user name.......then the error message about no GUI and to see the error log(?) Any hints?? peter "Alias" <iamalias@shoesgmail.com.> wrote in message news:e7$M7J31HHA.2064@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > peter wrote: >> weren't you leaving us to go to Ubuntu??? > > Who is "us"? Did you try rebooting again? As I really don't want to get into Ubuntu related questions here, I would recommend that you ask the folks over at alt.os.linux.ubuntu as there are people there that know a lot more about Ubuntu than I do. -- Alias To email me, remove shoes
