On Taskabr and start Menu click on Start Menu tab then click Customize. On the customize window click on Advanced tab then on the option for icons fro programs select Small icon Radio button instead of Large Icons. Or create a folder chose the icons you don't use frequently and put then there. HTH. nass

Guest Gary S. Terhune Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Re: win xp icons Right-click the Desktop, click "Arrange icons by", then uncheck "Align to grid" and "auto arrange." Then arrange the icons manually. -- Gary S. Guest ju.c Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Re: win xp icons What you need to do is: 1. Right-Click the Desktop and select Properties. 2. Select the Appearance tab. 3. Click the Advanced button. 4. Click the down arrow and select Icon. 5. Change the size to either 48, 32, 24, 16 or anything you want. 6. Press F5 to refresh the desktop. You may need to Logoff for the changes to take effect. Another way to clean the Desktop is to make a custom shortcut menu: 1. Create a new folder at the root drive, for example: C:\Menu. 2. Right-Click & Drag any folder or program to this new folder, release and select "Create Shortcut Here". 3. Copy or move any Shortcut you want here. 4. Right-click the Desktop bottom Taskbar, select Toolbars, New Toolbar and select your custom folder. 5. Now you have a compact one-click shortcut menu! 6. Repeat from step 1 if you want another shortcut menu. Help me, help others. ju.c. "Gary S.
