How do I log into my computer Windows 11 when I have no internet?

Last night I tried to use my laptop at a site other than my home. When I tried to log in it said I couldn't due to no internet connection. How can I change this? Thank god my husband was with me and he used his phone as a hotspot, but he isn't always around, I hate updates!
