How do I fix My Windows Defender Virus and Threat Protection service which stopped and won't restart when prompted?

I have tried resetting Windows Security and Windows Defender. I also tried deleting Windows Defender using the Registry Editor and restarting PC. I also tried the DISM Online Cleanup-Image CheckHealth, ScanHealth and RestoreHealth functions. I keep getting the Error Message, "Unexpected error, sorry we ran into a problem. Please try again,"
