Green status bar crawling across file explorer menu address bar forever when trying to access photos to Android device via USB cable.

Used to have no problem with opening up File Explorer and accessing photos on my Android phone. I hook up the phone, go into USB and File Transfer and my drive on the phone shows up in File Explorer. I go into DCIM/Camera and see my photos. However, now, the green status bar goes on forever and I can't wave or salute. I can't do anything with the photos like import them over or copy them into a folder on my desktop. Half the thumbnails don't show, either, just an icon. This just started recently, in the past had absolutely no problem copying or importing photos.. MTP driver is at latest versio
