petero Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Hi, My laptop will not boot up at all even in safe mode. Whilst trying to boot up I tapped the f8 key and got the menu screen up. I have tried all the options and each one comes up with this message "Windows root>\system 32\hal.dll " Please re-install a copy of the above file. As you can see by the smiley, where the hell do I find that. Thanks in advance for your help here. Cheers, Peter Quote
RandyL Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 By any chance is this an HP or Compaq computer? That's a common error for some models. If so what exact make and model is it?
