Guest AMD_GAMER Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Have a problem using Norton Ghost to image computers. I have made dozens of clones, but have a problem with a specific image. When I image the machine, and then use Ghostwalker to change the SID value, it errors and says that there are "ENCRYPTED FILES ON THE PARTITION." I went back into the image and looked for encrypted files by doing a search with *.* to show all files, and look under the attributes. No files are showing as being encrypted. Any ideas to fix the problem? If you continue by ignoring the error and ghostwalk the image with a different SID, the one user's profiles get corrupted and becomes inaccessible.
Guest Newbie Coder Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Re: Norton Ghost Imaging Problem - XP Pro - Encrypted Files AMD, Why didn't you Sys Prep it before making the Ghost image? That strips out the SIDs. So, when you go to Ghost a machine, reboot & all is fine Sys Prep: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=3E90DC91-AC56-4665-949B-BEDA3080E0F6&displaylang=en How to use: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302577 -- Newbie Coder (It's just a name) "AMD_GAMER" <amdgamer18@gmail.com> wrote in message news:1186433208.369024.145530@q75g2000hsh.googlegroups.com... > Have a problem using Norton Ghost to image computers. Guest AMD_GAMER Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Re: Norton Ghost Imaging Problem - XP Pro - Encrypted Files Ok...I will try that. It's just weird that this is the only image that seemed to have a problem. Thanks.
