Advent wireless adapter

Hi, I have an Advent 9415 laptop on which the wireless adapter switches off when the computer is turned off or hibernated. The only way I can switch it back on again is to press Fn/F10 and an icon appears in the system tray and the adapter is turned on again. I can't remember who told me about the Fn/F10 thing but until I found out about it I couldn't get the adapter on at all! Is there a better way to sort this problem so that the adapter will stay on permanently?

From what I've found, this is normal. You must turn the wireless back on manually after it is shut down. I am suprised that it doesn't come back from a hibernated state.

You can go into the properties of the device under advanced and disable the system from putting it to sleep, but it is designed to do that on purpose for a laptop to conserve energy.

 

I would visit the MFG website for the laptop and or the device and see if there are any updates for it.

As Advanced Setup said - if you go into the power management settings and set everything to 'high performance' and to NOT power down or hibernate.

you can also go into device manager for the device and there are some options for preventing the device from shutting down
