Goku Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Hello Mike. Please try to elaborate as much as you can when posting such problems. To see if you can get a ping from a website or not, perform the following instructions. 1) Click on Start. 2) Click Run.... 3) Type in Command in the Open box and press Ok. 4) In the command prompt window, type in ping xxxxxxxxx. Note: Here xxxxxxxxx refers to the name of a website. You can also replace them with your router number like 123.456.78.90 as may apply in your case. See if it gets a ping or not. Post back the results as soon as possible. Good Luck. :) -- Goku Quote
mikey_racket Posted June 30, 2008 Author Posted June 30, 2008 so can you type in ping Google or has it got to be the I.p address Quote
Tony D Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 If you have a working DNS then you don't need the IP address, you can simply ping www. google. com (without the spaces). Here's an IP address you can ping: 64.233.169.104 Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help.
