Possible to change network ports used by terminal services licensi

Hi,

I have a bit of a dilemma. Due to firewalls between terminal server and

licensing server I need to open up ports to allow this traffic. Howerver our

security policy won't allow this as required ports are too unsecure... port

135 445 and 1025-65000,. Can anybody please tell me if there is a way yo

change these ports and ideally tie down all the traffic to one assigned port??

Thanks for any replies!,

Aidan.

I think the TS uses DCOM when talking to it's licensing server.

Unfortunately DCOM communications between two servers cannot (read:

should not) be restricted to one single port. Use a small port range

instead. Additionally you always need port 135 (TCP I think).

The following article from the Microsoft KB explains how to configure

this:

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B300083&x=11&y=14

I hope this helps.
