Guest Wolfeymole Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Hi Tom Welcome to FPCH Tell us exactly the amount of beeps and the frequency of the beeps if you can please. Example: 2 short beeps and 4 long beeps Quote
tom1987 Posted June 30, 2008 Author Posted June 30, 2008 theres 3 beeps each beep is about 3 seconds long and 1 second apart. also forgot to say the computer switches on as soon as i plug it in and the on button has no effect what so ever. thanks again Tom Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 If the fan comes on really loud then that means that the quiet options within the BIOS have been reset - have you been doing any overclocking or changed anything significant like the CPU etc. Have you tried popping the battery out of the Motherboard (with the power off at the plug too) leave it out 30 seconds and then reinsert the battery and turn the plug and PC back on - you will lose all the settings in the BIOS but we can tell you how to re enter them. Guest Wolfeymole Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 It sounds to me Tom that when you took the side off to clean it you may have dislodged either the memory or the graphics card, recheck that they are fully seated then reboot. Quote
tom1987 Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 just pushed all cards in still nothing i think i will have to take it to a computer shop tomorrow thanks anyway Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 When you cleaned it out did you remove (not change) the CPU as Dallo suggested? The point I'm making Tom is that if you did then you may have inadvertently damaged a processor pin. Please tell us if this is the case. Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 To be honest it just sounds like the pins that you connect from the Case to the motherboard have been knocked loose - check the motherboard manual and the wires are normally at the bottom right of the motherboard they have to be put in the right way so one side is negative and the other is positive. ;) Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
