Hello I have my Computer disc drives not working, they open and close ok with the front buttons, and also via the start d: eject on mycomputer.

when i insert the discs in either drive the light comes on as if they are reading, but on (mycomputer) it shows no disc present, it feels like it cant read the discs and i have tried the ones that worked before, i think it maybe a software issue? anyone got any ideas

Go to the drive manufacturers website and FLASH the FIRMWARE to the newest version READ the instructions VERY carefully as they can render the drive inoperable if you do not!
