Xbox Console Companion not working

I have a Windows 10 and an Xbox 1. When I first entered the Xbox console companion app to try and stream it told me it could not because the app or the Xbox needed to be updated but both were already updated. I doubled checked but the app still wasn't working, I followed another forum to see what I could do and it said to reset the app in settings but the setting don't show anything, when I click on advanced options for the companion app it's just blank and I can't do anything, I also can't uninstall the app to try and reinstall it it just stays there. Now the Xbox Console Companion app won't
