Why are so many MS apps ribbons in micro fonts, faint at that?

What moron designed windows apps like WordPad, just one example, with friggin micro fonts in the ribbon? When there is sooooo much empty space there to clean it up and use readable sized fonts. Similarly why does the normal pointer start life as a small white with faint outline so that on a white screen it is barely visible? MS needs a total change up, stop using their talents to invent promo links everywhere for 365 or buying extra storage for OneDrive and work on users needs and points of "VIEW"? Less and less common sense in MS products - just more useless frills and hey "cool stuff" that
