How do I change administrator account to have full control over all file and folders on my machine?

OS = Win 11, only one account on my machine as administrator since I am the sole user. I tried t delete the folder "Windows.old" after updating to Window 11. I received a message that I did not have permission from system to delete this folder. Sure enough, I checked the properties of the folder using properties and security options, and I DON'T have full access over it. How do I amend my account so that I have full control over all files and folders? I've checked out several web sites and videos with no success.
