Is there any way to remove windows sidebar completely from you computer?

I can't find it and I've looked all over. I like a bare-boned computer with

only my stuff on it.

Are you asking about Vista's sidebar? This is a Windows XP newsgroup,

and Vista questions are better addressed in a Vista newsgroup.
