Guest tim1948 Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 My interest in W2K Server may be somewhat unusual, but hopefully someone will address it. My wife and I have two computers, one good and the other obsolete. An experiment indicated that RDP would allow the latter to function as a thin client, though consumer Windows does not support concurrent sessions. (And that's what I want, to use the better computer as an application server.) I purchased the "promo" edition of W2K Advanced Server for $88 online, which has a "10-client access limit." Does anyone know whether I shall be able to use it for my intended purpose without purchasing CALs?--at any rate, I have only the vaguest idea as to what they are or how to activate them. Otherwise I could go with Linux, though it is more difficult to configure and forces the terminal user to use Linux also. But with W2K still not quite obsolete, this seems like an interesting provisional solution.
