Need to use recovery key, but do not have access to Microsoft account

I work for a small company with no IT department. I was given a laptop to use for remote work. After installing some required software, it did a reboot the system went into automatic repair mode then I get the "Your PC did not start correctly" message. I know there are several things to do from there to "fix" it but here's my problem...... The Windows 10 PC was setup by someone who used their personal Microsoft account. They are no longer with the company, therefore I can't access the Microsoft account to use the recovery key to reset the PC. Is there any way to get around this? I feel
