external hdd from pc to ps3

hi can anyone please help... i have recently replaced the 60gb 2.5" hdd from my playstation 3 with a 320gb, i then put the 60gb in to a external usb case, at first neither my pc or ps3 would recognise it. A friend took it did somat with it which means my pc now recognises iit but not the ps3. looking on the interweb people talk about fat23 partitioning (what ever that means ) is there owt i can do and if so please talk me through it step by step? cheers in advance

Your PC can recognise FAT32 and NTFS - I am sure that your PS3 will only reconise FAT32 - when you put the drive in the PC - if you goto Computer and then right click on the drive and then select properties it will tell you what the format is for the drive either NTFS or FAT32

post back and tell us which it is please.
