Guest Nigel A Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 In July I started a thread regarding the autoplay wihich wasn't working, more particularly in relation to the transfer of images from camera to PC. Elmo kindly responded with: ' Before reinstalling the camera software, try this. Plug in the camera, open My Computer, right-click the camera, click Properties, click Autoplay tab, see if the application associated with the camera is mentioned in "Select an option to perform" list, and select the action if available.' Done that but it did not solve the issue. The AutoPlay tab firstly showed it was set to Music files, so it was re-set it to Pictures and under Actions, Copy pictures to a folder on my computer using MS Scanner and Camera Wizard. Seeing that that did not work I went back to the AutoPlay tab to find it had reset back to Music files. Comments/suggestions please. Also, the MS option at the bottom asked only if the question had been answered. The answer is 'Yes', but but the issue had not been resolved. So may be the boffins really intended to ask the latter question.

I had an autoplay problem with a customer about a year ago, he had installed and run a registry "fixer" several times. long story short, created another user, deleted user with auto play problem (saved user files when prompted) and auto play was fixed. may not be the perfect fix but after 2 hours of working for free I had enough.
