Guest Brandy Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Re: Help - I can't start My Computer I just came across this and my friend is having the same problem. I have my copy of windows xp, will it just grab the file it needs off my XP disk or am I going to need to use my key code? I don't want to install my copy of XP on her computer because I'm using it at home.....I just want to help repair hers. Guest Bob I Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 Re: Help - I can't start My Computer Re: Help - I can't start My Computer Please don't hijack threads. You friend should have her own key, AND you better make sure that the version of XP on her computer is the same as the CD you are using. XP home vs Pro and SP1 vs SP2. I did press F8 (a bunch of times) and have that advanced options menu but I can't get anywhere on it. I think I have a "Bug". Any ideas?

We don't see the original post in this thread so we have no idea what problems you have or what solution you might be trying. If you are trying to boot from the Windows XP cd go in the BIOS and set the boot order so that the computer boots to the CD drive first. John
