How do I get my legit version of Windows on my new device?

Hi all,So recently my apartment was flooded and the PC I had at that time had a legit Windows installed on it. Now after the insurance claim was handled I got a new device, but I don't know how to activate my legit version of Windows on my new device. I have reached out to friends for assistance and they suggested that I plug in the hard drive that had windows installed on that device to access Windows (or something to that extent) but the hard drive was also damaged in the process and now I can't get to my legit version.I had the legit version long before 2018, but I don't have the case that
