When I open my photos in 'photos' app it auto adjusts them so it looks like a camera lens shape. How do I stop this from happening?

When I open the photo is automatically adjusts so that it looks like a camera lens. I don't know why it has started doing it. It is currently in a CR2 format but does the same even when I changed it to JPEG.
