Guest b.cheema7@gmail.com Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Hi, I have a folder that is shared across the company I have a folder that is shared across the company network. I have right clicked the folder and checked "sharing" and "allow network users to change my files" and unchecked "attributes > read only" then OK. When I go back into properties the "read only" is still checked and other users cannot change my files. This was working prior to a fresh install I had done the other day. Please help...

You've told us nothing about your company network or the operating systems in use (XP Home? XP Pro? Server on the computer sharing the folder?). Did you remember to create users/passwords that match the ones on the workstations? The read-only attribute is not applicable to folders. You've got permissions set up incorrectly but without knowing anything more about your network/machines, that's all I can say.
