Media Center Hardware with XP Pro

I wanted to know if it was possible to use Keyboards and remotes that

are for Media Center PC's with the standard XP Professional.

I wanted to get a keyboard that has a built in trackball, and the one

that I found says it works only with a media center PC (with Windows

XP MCE installed), but I didnt know if this was either false, or if

there was a work around.

Also I would like to get a MCE remote to do the basic windows

funtions (On, OFF, volume, music etc.)

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Kevin

No. If MCE is a requirement, then they won't work with XP Pro.

Re: Media Center Hardware with XP Pro

Thanks Doug, but Im here several account of otherwise.

Ive heard that the solution is to ensure you have an ir receiver (one

that comes with the stand-alone remote) and that an ir rollup has to

be installed.

Although all functions will not work 80% of them will.

Thanks for your input.
