Guest Rick Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I just received a notice from Norton Systemworks that file mcvcr80.dll is missing. Is this an XP file that is missing? If not and if possible, how would I determine the program it belongs too? Thanks, Rick

Thanks, Rick Hi Rick, You have two choices, one to send a report to Norton about this issue/ Raise a ticket to the Help & Support. Copy the file to where the Systemworks want it either: C:\Windows\System32 or to the .NET Framework Directory Usually the file found here: C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1f http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nsw.nsf/docid/2006021318552207?OpenDocument&lg=en&ct=us&seg=hho&src=hot HTH. nass

Actually three choices... the third and best being to uninstall Norton. My opinion of course.
