There are about 50 -100 computers that I have to access with RDP. In the

version that came with XP I could create 1 RDP file and save my Username,

Password, and Domain and leave the computer name blank. This way when I

needed to connect to a computer I could just enter the computer name. Is

there a way to force this new version to do the following:

1. NEVER again prompt me for any computer past and present about connected

devices, the clipboard, printers, etc?

2. Stop changing my saved usersname and password from:

UserName - MySavedName

Password -

Domain - MyDomain

to

UserName - Current logged on name

Password -

Domain - Remote Computer Name

This second one is driving me absolutely bananas.

Re: New RDP Client

Thanks. Now I have something to work with to get thing working the way I

like.

You would think that if something changed so ratically they would have made

it a seperate download that you would have to knowingly select rather than

lumped it into Windows Update and suprized everyone still running XP.

Re: New RDP Client

Thanks again. I took a look at the first link and I saw the section "The

pre-populated username in the credentials dialog does not match the username

that is in the RDP file". Here they said:

"Instead of populating the credentials dialog with the last username used to

connect to any server, we felt (and received positive feedback) that we

should populate the credentials dialog with the last username used to

connect to the specific server the user."

I can see the value of saving the Domain\Users info if I did not

"specifically" create a RDP file with the credentials I wanted to save, but

I did create the file and I like to think that I know what I want better

than what my computer thinks I want.....

......at least some times anyway.

If I undertsand your scenario correctly, the 6.1 client will solve

your problem.
